Deep into Earth’s next ice age, stories have become the fuel for life. In the remote outpost of Storyhaven the townsfolk gather to tell their tales while the shaman intensifies their power to stoke the fablehearths that keep the townsfolk warm and alive on the frozen wastes.

But now this precious resource is dwindling. A strange amnesia is infecting the minds of young and old. The families of Storyhaven are forgetting their tales. Eventually, they even forget themselves, stumbling out into the blizzards, never to return.

There are rumours of an ancient evil stirring in the glaciers, bent on Storyhaven’s ruin. Soon there will be none left who remember the old tales. Deprived of their fuel the fablehearths will go out. The ice will creep back in and the remaining families will perish in their beds.

In a last desperate roll of the dice, Storyhaven’s scientists develop a perilous means of time travel to allow their most intrepid explorers to journey back into the past to the week before the amnesia took hold. Their mission: to recover the town’s stories and send them back to the present to keep the townsfolk alive until the mystery of the amnesia can be solved…

About Storyhaven

Storyhaven is an immersive storytelling experience for use in virtual online classrooms with children aged 8-12 years old. It blends group roleplaying, lone reading experiences and live-stream connections with an actor to boost children’s creative writing, love of books, and mental wellbeing.

Storyhaven’s main engagement is driven by an illustrated reading game that can be played in virtual classroom breakout rooms. It allows children to design their own characters and then navigate their way through the story in teams, talking decisions over together in a way that builds social skills of negotiation and compromise, peer-group integration and mental wellbeing.

1 in 3 of our women
have survived sexual violence.
We are all affected.
We are all responsible.

Foreign Body is the beautifully crafted debut solo show by Imogen Butler-Cole about hope, healing and forgiveness after sexual assault. Told from a unique and challenging perspective, using a charged combination of verbatim and physical theatre, Foreign Body is a brave, liberating and life-affirming story.

“Capture[s] the fragility felt by the invaded body, and the courage needed to forgive the man, or men, who invaded… a reminder of how important individual action is in creating political change.” ★★★★ The Stage

“…a brave and challenging work [that] approaches its emotive subject calmly and with respect, giving a much-needed voice to the voiceless women who experience sexual violence.” Reviews Hub

“Definitely one of the most transformative, healing and cathartic nights ever.” Audience feedback

“Inspiring and brilliant… I felt electrified… an extremely powerful and hugely memorable experience.” Audience feedback

Passion of Christa

Director, Writer, and Performer| Union Chapel

A meditative, sensory-based theatrical experience devised by four female performers.

On Good Friday, the story of the Passion is retold and reimagined through the eyes of a female Christ. An evening of performance, ritual and music exploring suffering and grief from a unique perspective, in the atmospheric Union Chapel.

The Passion of Christa is a piece of Sacred Theatre. It’s an inquiry into the possibility of Christ
representing aspects of the Feminine Divine – Christ as darkness, death, descent, chaos, bodily
sensation, emotion, vulnerability, grief, rage, despair. It’s an inquiry into the paradigm of order and
authority that wants to shut that down and ‘crucify it’.

We asked ourselves the question who is the suffering Christ? We asked ourselves who is Christa? We considered our own experiences, as women, growing up within a church tradition.

Our vision of Sacred Theatre is a coming together of artists through heart connection and a
commitment to deep intuition, with the intention of creating a space where ‘the Gods can descend’.

Since 1992, Union Chapel has been hosting concerts and events – this has grown over the years and it now has hundreds of events a year. Readers of Time Out have voted it London’s Favourite Venue an amazing three times.

Witch

Director, Creator, and Performer | Union Chapel

© Union Chapel

At Halloween, when the veil is thin between the world of the living and the dead, Union Chapel hosts an immersive theatre piece exploring the witch craze that took place across Europe during the 15th to 18th centuries. This is a rare chance for audiences to go behind the scenes at Union Chapel and be taken in small groups on a chilling tour.

The witch trials took place in a widespread moral panic that malevolent Satanic witches were operating as an organized threat to the established church. The Union Chapel is an ideal setting to revisit these harrowing tales of suspicion, torture and intrigue.

Created by Boe Huntress, Fran Moulds, and Julieta Kilgelmann.

Audience Feedback

“Powerful, important, feminist storytelling. I was terrified, moved and engaged. Exceptional acting.”

“Intense, fun and unexpected. I really loved it, it made my Halloween.”

“Truly immersive and interactive, based on a true story. Political and feminist.”

“An atmospherically rich, powerful production.”

The boy and the penguin are back! In this adventure, the penguin really wants to fly. Ignoring the boy’s advice that it is impossible, he leaves his friend to go searching for a chance to get his feet off the ground. But will flying be everything he had hoped?

Up and Down is a funny yet touching story about the importance of friendship and reaching for one’s dreams, that speaks to all ages.

This is the sequel to the internationally best-selling picture book Lost and Found and is written by the multi-award-winning author/illustrator Oliver Jeffers. In this production, live theatre is integrated with magical projections on the big screen based on illustrations from the book. It is a multi-sensory show with original music, creative lighting and innovative props to keep all members of the family absorbed.
Press

“Marrying live acting with projection based on illustrations, that many of the young audience will recognise, is an ingenious way of introducing theatre to under-sevens who will be more familiar with film. It’s a brave idea from a new company.” Susan Elkin, The Stage

“Your children will be charmed by this inky delight” ☆☆☆☆☆ Patrick Marmion, the Mail

Fran worked on the research and development for Ga Ga Theatre’s debut show Up and Down, and directed the show’s 2014 spring tour.
